Healthy Living

He who enjoys good health is rich, though he knows it not.
—Italian proverb

At High Park Day School we encourage and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Students have two or three outdoor breaks (depending on the timetable that day) at Lessard Park, which is just a short walk from the school. The school provides equipment for students to share and use for games, skipping etc.

Students participate in Physical Education classes twice a week on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Physical Education classes focus on skills, personal bests, and cooperation. Although this is our formal time-slot for PE, we also go on regular hikes to get fresh air and sustained amounts of cardiovascular exercise. Our PE program is also supplemented with in-class lessons on healthy living, hygiene.

Families are always encouraged and reminded to send their children to school with well balanced and nutritious snacks and lunches.
